Karen Arroy Zurita lives in the Sierra Gorda of Querétaro. She works at the Querétaro Human Rights Ombudsman's Office as an advocate and defender, and she is a professor at the Concá campus of the Autonomous University of Querétaro. She is a philanthropist and works with many collectives that raise awareness and open up spaces for growth, creativity, and peace. She chairs the Human Rights Commission at Fuerza Migrante and also serves on the Board of Directors.
She holds a bachelor's degree in Sociology and has done graduate studies in Political Parties and Electoral Processes and in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. She has also completed certificate programs and seminars in human rights, migration, gender and public policy, food and nutrition security, and thanatology, among other subjects.
