Originally from Tulcingo, Puebla, Mexico, he is the current director of the Immigrant Student Success Office (ISSO) at Brooklyn College (CUNY). Jesús has dedicated his life to expanding access to higher education for young Latinos, especially in New York's Mexican community.
His office offers comprehensive resources for immigrant and first-generation students, from financial aid counseling to free legal resources. For 15 years, he directed the Center for Academic Advisement and Student Success (CAASS) at Brooklyn College, where he reached tens of thousands of high school students who were unfamiliar with the college application process and unaware of the tools available to them.
