New York | Fifth Avenue — This Sunday, the 2025 Hispanic Day Parade took place along Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, one of the most representative cultural events of the Latino community in the United States, bringing together thousands of families and organizations to celebrate the diversity, identity, and contributions of Spanish-speaking peoples. In this edition, Fuerza Migrante and the Dr. Simi Foundation led the parade, accompanied by cultural and artistic contingents from different Latin American countries along the route between 44th and 68th Streets on Fifth Avenue. One of the most significant moments of the event was the participation of second-generation youth, daughters and sons of Mexican and Latin American families, who made up the Flag Delegation and represented 21 Latin American countries, reaffirming the binational and multicultural character of the Latino community in New York. During the parade, the Don Quijote Award was presented to Víctor González, founder of the Dr. Simi Foundation, in recognition of his career and commitment to social well-being and improving the quality of life of people and communities in different countries around the world. The recognition was received on his behalf by Víctor González Herrera, chief executive of Grupo Por un País Mejor, who thanked the organizers for the honor and reaffirmed the foundation's commitment to high-impact social causes. Fuerza Migrante thanked the Dr. Simi Foundation for its support and participation in the parade, and announced that new joint initiatives on community development, food, and the environment will be presented in the coming weeks, aimed at strengthening the well-being of families in Mexico and the United States. With more than six decades of history, the Hispanic Day Parade continues to stand as a symbol of the work, identity, and unity of the Latino community in New York City. Photography: Ciro Gutiérrez
